Ne me Quitte pas...In Memoriam goodbye Will
One hot summer afternoon on Fort Myers Beach, time stood still. William Vesper, our friend who lives in a green home acress the street froom ours went to sleep and never woke up. He had been in bad health for some time. I am dedicating this song to his mother, Susan, who was there when he closed his eyes. He was 48 years old old and a parent should never see their child die.
Will was a good man who had a passion for history, rock and roll, his family, NASCAR, baseball and especially was a devoted Red Sox fan, loved football, could cook a mean dish, was a chef, and was raised in Vermont before his family moved to Fort Myers Beach some 25 years ago. He joined his uncle "Jack", an attorney turned boat captain, and together for over 10 years they pulled nets of shrimps all through the Gulf of Mexico. He loved fishing and he loved his uncle. These were good times.
We often passed by his home and had heated but friendly conversations about politics or sports and everything that crossed our minds. I always enjoyed talking to him. My wife was also a friend of his and we both will miss him terribly. He was always supportive and in touch with his brother, Bobby, and sister-in-law, Tracy, and their kids, even though they lived in Vermont. They came to visit often.
Our street will never be the same again without our friend, Will.
